The goal is to give this group of music students an introduction to the North Indian rhythmic structure, culture and how to apply these skills into other instruments and performance. Ritesh Das will draw from his vast experience as an educator for over 30 years and running similar projects in schools in the GTA under the ‘Artists in Education’ programs between 2005 and 2014.

It will provide a long lasting learning opportunity, and  be able to learn how to create their own music based on the foundations of North Indian rhythms. They will also develop team building, time management, communication and leadership skills. Through the experience of connecting the culture and traditions within the music  this will help them understand music from many places in the world and appreciate the differences that connect people.
